3.4 – Parking & Vehicle Persistence

Vehicles owned by players in Aurora City are persistent and will remain even through tsunami

All player owned vehicles in Aurora City are kept in a persistent state meaning where you left/parked your vehicle is where it will stay (even through tsunami).

So it is important that you ensure your vehicle is parked accordingly as per the law and also locked for it's safety.

We have boot checking prevention mechanics that restricts the movement of all items in and out of the boot or storage of a vehicle unless you hold the keys. This applies to the boot only and does not apply to the glovebox storage.

The government conducts fortnightly (or sooner) cleanups at our discretion. If you have any in city issues relating to vehicles being bugged you will need to make a support ticket. Do not contact the Police in relation to any OOC related matters as they will not be able to help you, this will requires a government agent/official.

If your vehicle is impounded by the Police the vehicles keys will automatically be granted to the Police in which they are able to lawfully search your vehicle if a search warrant or order was issued and the vehicle is listed within the order.

The standard retrieval or un-impound fee is set to a maximum of up to $30,000 at the officer's discretion.

Under no circumstances should a private vehicle and it's contents be searched without approval from the courts via a search warrant or order which lists the vehicle.

Police are required to state the reason for your vehicle impoundment which is made available to you to review when you visit your garage and view your vehicle list.

You will see information relating to;

  • When the vehicle was impounded

  • Reason the vehicle was impounded

  • The name of the officer who conducted the impound

  • Whether the vehicle is self-retrievable or not

  • The fee it will cost you to have your vehicle returned

You are encouraged to call the Police via the services app on your mobile to discuss any impound related matters such as arranging for the release of your vehicle.

If your vehicle has been set as non-retrievable by owner this means the Police intends to seize your vehicle either temporarily or permanently. If this has happened to you, we highly recommend that you seek legal advice and contact the Police as soon as possible regarding your vehicle.

It is important to note that the Police must complete a report when conducting a vehicle impound on player owned vehicles that has a registered owner.

The report must detail;

  • Date of impound

  • Detail the lawful reason for the impound

  • Contain at least 2 images attached to the report showing front and back of vehicle and clearly depicting the infraction (if impounded)

  • The images must also clearly show the model, colour and number plates of the vehicle

  • If a parking infringement is written the Police must take two images of which the automatic time stamp will show if the vehicle has in fact surpassed the allowed parking time (48 hours)

  • If parked illegally, in a non stopping zone or blocking entry to a public building or business only 1 image is required that depicts the infraction for a parking infringement

Note all information and media stated above is required to be detailed in the Police report however the Police are under no obligation to proactively provide this information to you.

You should contact the Police and request this information should you wish to do so.

If an impound is conducted without an accompanying report the impound will be considered unlawful.

You must not obstruct or prevent Police officers from completing a report if your vehicle is found to be in breach of the city's road and parking laws. You must not also attempt to move or hide your vehicle after it has been documented to be in breach to prevent evidence being taken. These are criminal offences and you will be arrested and charged accordingly.
